It's nice that it starts with the absolute hammer: "Father Of All..." is Green Day's new album, their thirteenth studio effort and the eagerly awaited follow-up to their 2016 number one "Revolution Radio". Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool recorded ten new songs for it. Coming in at just 26 minutes in total, "Father of All..." is also Green Day's shortest album. But that doesn't mean it's not enough. On the contrary: the cult punks from the USA put all their energy into these songs. And you can hear that right away in the haunting title track, which was released back in September 2019. What's more, it's clear that while their last album was still pretty punk rock, Green Day are now venturing even more into other musical genres. The band is talking soul, Motown and glam. Of course, they can't do without the rich guitars. The new rock year 2020 starts well: more than ever, Green Day are in absolutely great shape.
