The Offspring is an American punk rock band formed in Garden Grove, California, in 1984. Originally called Manic Subsidal, the band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Dexter Holland, lead guitarist Noodles, bassist Todd Morse, and drummer Pete Parada. They are widely regarded as one of the leading bands of the 1990s punk revival with their breakthrough album "Smash," released in 1994, which set a record for most albums sold on an independent label. The Offspring continued to enjoy commercial success with subsequent albums like "Americana" (1998), which included hits such as "Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)" and "Why Don't You Get a Job?" Their music is characterized by its melodic punk sound, catchy hooks, and often humorous lyrics. Over the years, they have experimented with different sounds and styles but have remained a staple in the punk rock genre. The band has released several albums and has experienced various lineup changes throughout its career.
