Mylo Xyloto is the fifth studio album by British rock band Coldplay.It was released on 24 October 2011 by Parlophone. The album was produced by Markus Dravs, Brian Eno and Rik Simpson and was recorded in 2009 and 2010 at The Bakery and The Beehive studios in London. The album features guest appearances by Rihanna, Noel Gallagher and Jay-Z. The album title was announced by the band on their official website on 7 July 2011. The album title is derived from the Greek words "mylo", meaning "mill", and "xyloto", meaning "to write". The album cover was created by American artist Mark Ryden and features a young girl holding a yellow balloon. The album's lead single, "Paradise", was released on 12 September 2011. The song was written by Coldplay , Brian Eno and Rik Simpson and produced by Eno and Simpson. The song reached number one in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
