The songs come from their cheesiest years, when their domestic dominance was sealed and their coveted position on the world music stage with the title of best rock 'n' roll band was already knocking on the rehearsal room door. On Air is some of the most passionate and intense material the 'Stones' have ever released, consisting of 32 rarely heard radio recordings. Eight of them have never been played live or released commercially by the band, and the other seven were heard on the radio airwaves before they were released on any of the albums or EPs. The flagship track is the debut single and the first song played for the band at the iconic Saturday Club Come On. On Air also features the familiar R&B-tinged tracks Roll Over Beethoven or Memphis, Tennessee, the bluesy beginnings embodied in the likes of Fannie Mae and Cops And Robbers, and last but not least, the raw and elemental work of Jagger/Richards such as (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, The Last Time and The Spider And The Fly.On Air is also an important historical artefact of the close relationship between the Rolling Stones and the BBC recording sessions, illustrated by the high frequency with which they visited their studios in the 1960s. The recordings captured on the album straddle the line between precise studio work and energetic live performances. On Air is the work of a band consisting of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Brian Jones and Bill Wyman.

First Steps: The Rolling Stones at the start of their career With the album "On Air", The Rolling Stones present a very special album at the end of the year: it consists of rare radio and TV recordings from the band's early days, a selection of recordings from BBC sessions from 1963 to 1965 and shows like "Saturday Club", "Top Gear", "Rhythm and Blues" and "The Joe Loss Pop Show". A total of 18 tracks made it into the collection, eight of which are previously unreleased. It includes several Stones originals as well as a few cover versions by Chuck Berry, Tommy Tucker, Buster Brown and Bo Diddley. All of the tracks for "On Air" were remixed at London's legendary Abbey Road Studios using a new process called "demix" instead of the traditional "multitrack remix master" process. "On Air" is available as a standard CD and deluxe double CD in digipak, as a double LP and exclusively on jpc as a yellow double LP. While stocks last, of course. A musical retrospective taken up a notch: "On Air" brings together many of the Rolling Stones' earliest steps on one album. The new album is accompanied by an illustrated retrospective book "On Air In The Sixties".
