The Doors released their fourth album The Soft Parade in 1969. The album departed from the band's earlier work and featured a more orchestral sound. The Soft Parade was not as well received as the band's previous albums, but has since been recognized as a classic. The album's title track, "The Soft Parade", was released as a single and reached number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other singles from the album, "Touch Me" and "Wishful Sinful", both reached the top 40 of the chart. The album The Soft Parade was certified gold by the RIAA in 1970.
