Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl have come to terms with an image as spokesmen for the grunge generation that took them themselves by surprise. "In Utero" is many things, wrote David Fricke in Rolling Stone when the album came out, "Brilliant, searing, angry and thoughtful, mostly all at once. But above all, it's a triumph of strong will." Nirvana's (unwanted) swan song is now playing out beautifully on the 20th anniversary of the release of "In Utero."
