Ram It Down is the eighteenth studio album by British heavy metal band Judas Priest , released on 11 April 1988. It was the band's first album with new singer Tim "Ripper" Owens. The album was recorded at Morrisound Recording studios in Tampa, Florida and was produced by Tom Allom and Judas Priest . The album was commercially successful, reaching number 11 on the UK Albums Chart and number 23 on the Billboard 200. The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on 9 November 1988 and has since been certified platinum by the RIAA. The album Ram It Down was praised by music critics. Eduardo Rivadavia of AllMusic gave the album four and a half stars out of five, calling it "an album that, while not as groundbreaking as some of their earlier work, is still a definitive statement about late 1980s metal". He further stated that "Ram It Down is an album that is as consistent as it is heavy".
