Disraeli Gears is considered one of the first psychedelic rock albums. The album's psychedelic sound was influenced by the band's use of LSD and other drugs. The album cover, designed by Robert Brownjohn, features a melting clock. The album's lyrics, written by Jack Bruce, deal with themes such as love, drugs and politics.
