Teenage Fanclub is a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Bellshill near Glasgow in 1989. The group was founded by Norman Blake (vocals, guitar), Raymond McGinley (vocals, lead guitar), and Gerard Love (vocals, bass), with Francis MacDonald (drums) joining later. They are renowned for their melodic, harmony-laden songs and their sound that draws heavily from classic American West Coast pop music and the jangle pop genre. Teenage Fanclub's breakthrough came with their 1991 album "Bandwagonesque," which outshone Nirvana's "Nevermind" in a year-end poll by the influential music magazine Spin.
