Limetree PHONO IIhas two discrete input stages that are perfectly tuned for the respective type of cartridge. This ensures maximum sound quality with any MM or MC-type cartridge. Installation is easy, simply connect the turntable and you are ready to start playing. For MC cartridges only, there is a variable input impedance setting between 50 and 400 Ω (adjustment DIP switches are on the rear panel of the unit).

In concept, the Limetree Phono II goes back to the circuit design of the classic tube amplifier, but is also a completely new reinterpretation using the latest technology and components.The two-stage circuitry with passive RIAA equalization uses the best J-FET amplifiers that available today, as well as high-precision, close-tolerance resistors and capacitors made in Japan. Purely passive equalization has a significant advantage: distortion in the bass range is much lower than with commonly used circuits.

Thetwo inputs can be used individually or simultaneously and can be switched during operation, allowing two audio signals (a turntable with two arms) to be connected to the preamplifier. The MC input is fully symmetrical and the design of its circuitry required the utmost attention to every detail.

A high quality "Medical Grade" transformer with exceptional immunity to interference is used as the power supply. Thanks to sophisticated filtering and special voltage regulators, the power supply achieves exceptionally low noise and voltage ripple values below 10 µV.
