Progressive pioneers at their best, Yes are set to unveil their new album in 2021. 'The Quest' is the band's first album in seven years, the follow-up to 2014's 'Heaven And Earth' and the first album released on the Inside Out Music label. The progressive and art rock musicians, produced by Steve Howe, show once again why they are still one of the most important bands in their genre. Steve Howe, Alan White, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison and Billy Sherwood composed eleven new songs for "The Quest" and recorded them in studios around the world. Recording took place in the UK with Howe, Downes and Davison, while White and Sherwood reunited in a studio in the US. Additional percussion was contributed by Jay Schellen, who is part of the live band Yes. "I'm just honoured to have the opportunity to bring the band members together to create a well-crafted set of songs that capture the true potential of the band," said Howe. "Much of the music was written in late 2019, with the rest in 2020. We commissioned several orchestrations to complement and enhance the overall sound of these lush new recordings, and we hope our emphasis on melody along with some longer solo instrumental breaks will keep the momentum going with our listeners." The album, co-written by longtime collaborator Roger Dean, will be released in a variety of formats, including a double-CD, a double-LP including a double-CD, a limited artbook with a double-CD and Blu-ray, and a limited deluxe box set of Glow in the Dark with a double-LP, double-CD and Blu-ray, coaster, enamel pin, 36-page hardcover booklet, poster and certificate of authenticity, all packaged in a sturdy box. The Blu-ray includes 5.1 surround sound and high-resolution instrumental versions of all album tracks. Formed in 1968, Yes made a name for themselves in their genre, particularly in the 1970s, when they were one of the pioneers of our time. The British band has released 23 studio albums to date. Most recently, 2019 saw the release of 'Fram A Page', a collection of previously unreleased tracks from 2008 to 2011. "The Quest" is Yes' 24th LP and the first album recorded without Yes founder Chris Squire, who died in 2015.
