We Can't Dance also offered them: 'I Can't Dance', of course, is one of the most popular Genesis songs ever, as are the singles 'No Son Of Mine', 'Jesus He Knows Me' and 'Tell Me Why'. Swinging riffs were combined with an unusually bold and unadorned sound, while still leaving plenty of room for the gentle, balladic moments that Phil Collins has perfected over the years. A particular standout is the song Since I Lost You, which was written for Eric Clapton's late son. Most music critics agreed: We Can't Dance was Genesis' strongest musical statement in a decade, while not sacrificing the hit-making sense with which it had already dominated the charts on previous albums.
