It's extremely hard to imagine a band completely changing their line-up and style and still turning out to be good - unless their name is Fleetwood Mac. Formed in the UK in the late 1960s as a British blues combo, the group gradually transformed into a pop rock band over the course of a decade, becoming one of the most influential bands of the 1970s. The only permanent members of Fleetwood Mac in all their incarnations were drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie; the rhythm section that gave the band its name. Ironically, they had the least influence on the musical direction of the band. Initially guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer gave the group a gritty, neo-psychedelic blues-rock sound, but after their departure the group moved towards pop/rock, first with pianist Christine McVie and then with singer Stevie Nicks and guitar prodigy Lindsey Buckingham. The Many Faces of Fleetwood Mac delves down the proverbial rabbit hole and explores a lesser-known side of the band. The journey concludes with live footage of one of the band's most popular concerts of their 50-year career. CD1 opens with one of the most successful hits of the "early incarnation of Fleetwood Mac": 'Man of the World', written by Peter Green, was originally released in April 1960 and reached number two in the UK charts. Green re-recorded it in 1999 with his Peter Green Splinter Group for the album Destiny Road, which was released in 1999. There is no denying that the "classic" Fleetwood-McVie-Buckingham-Nicks line-up provided the band with its greatest hits. That's why CD2 is dedicated to five of the band's best-known songs, re-recorded by Karen Souza, Jazzystics and Anakelly, among others. CD3 contains a live concert recording from California in 1997. The setlist includes most of their biggest hits such as Dreams, Go Your Own Way, Everywhere, The Chain, Big Love and Gypsy. They performed the songs Temporary One and Silver Springs live for the first time since 1977.
