Mariko Takahashi and Stefan Winter present their personal musical experiences from Havana. In particular, the voice of Hermes Fernández Salgado of Trío Tesis, the unusual, thrillingly shimmering interplay between singer Roxana Brínguez and guitarist Manuel Suárez Silva, as well as the heartbreaking Dúo Cachibache awaken a deep desire to finally transfer these sounds from sapphire or diamond needle to LP vinyl. Mariko Takahashi and Stefan Winter have created a mesmerizing poetic LP of beautiful finds from the courtyards, streets and bars of Havana. Graphic artist Günter Mattei captured scenes from the trip with colorful illustrations in Cuban booklets, so even visually this large-cover edition is pleasantly different from the usual Cuban production. A journey with eyes closed into the hidden sonic world of Cuba that is so poignantly beautiful and yet to be discovered.
