She has been in the music business since 1960, and after teaming up with Ike Turner, she launched her solo career in 1974 with the album "Tina Turns The Country On!" for which she was immediately awarded a Grammy Award. Her absolute breakthrough among megastars came a decade later with the album "Private Dancer". Originally released in June 1984, "Private Dancer" contained a string of mega-hits that kept the world and the clubs in suspense, including "What's Love Got To Do With It", "Better Good To Me", "Private Dancer" and "Let's Stay Together". The album "Private Dancer" was an instant worldwide success and went multi-platinum in several countries including the US, UK, Canada, Australia and of course Germany where it stayed on the chart for 94 weeks. "Private Dancer" is regarded as one of the best comeback albums of the decade and Rolling Stone magazine (USA) ranked it among the 100 best albums of the 80s. TINA TURNER has won four of the eight Grammy Awards for songs from "Private Dancer" alone!
