Composed of outtakes and rarities from The Who's first decade, the Odds & Sods compilation is a rather mixed listen, offering only a few tracks that could be considered top-notch. In addition, some tracks have been released on other compilations since 1974. Also included is their first single "I'm the Face", recorded in 1964 when the band was still performing under the name High Numbers. The original eleven-track album, which was released as one of the first collections of rarities to avoid bootleggers, was released in September 1974 on the Track Records label. It includes the single "Long Live Rock", an unedited and unreleased version of "The Seeker", a studio version of "Young Man Blues", alternate versions of "Dogs Part Two" and "Water", and many other gems. This reissue includes the original LP sequence on the first disc and adds 14 bonus tracks - B-sides, rarities and encores on the second disc "Odds & Sods Too" - to create the definitive 25-track double-LP. The stunning artwork and design recreate the original "cut-out" front cover and include all the original liner notes for Pete Townshend's songs.
