This unique four-CD box set focuses on previously unreleased or commercially unavailable music, from the first known recordings of the Jimi Hendrix Experience in October 1966 to the guitarist's final multi-track recording at Electric Lady Studios in August 1970. Alternate versions of classics like "Purple Haze," "Foxy Lady" and "Little Wing" are interspersed with stunning, previously unheard Hendrix tracks like "It's Too Bad" and "Country Blues." These 60 recordings - presented in chronological order - trace the meteoric rise of the greatest guitarist of all time. Finally available again on vinyl: the highly acclaimed "Purple" box set The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Unreleased live and studio recordings from 1966 to 1970, rare recordings such as demos and alternate versions of well-known songs. A total of 60 songs in chronological order.
