Recorded in Berlin in spring 2014 and released the following summer, "I Declare Nothing" is an extremely promising collaboration between TESS PARKS and ANTON NEWCOMBE (BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE), released on Anton's label A Recordings. TESS PARKS is originally from Toronto and moved to London at the age of 17, where she briefly studied photography before deciding to pursue music. TESS impressed Alan McGee, the founder of Creation Records and a legend in the music industry - but their meeting was ill-timed: McGee was no longer involved in music at the time, and TESS was about to move back to Toronto. After TESS did indeed move back to Toronto in 2012, she formed a band there at McGee's urging, and less than a year after their meeting, McGee celebrated his return to music with his new label, 359 Music. TESS signed a deal and released their debut album Blood Hot in November 2013 to excellent reviews. One writer called her "Patti Smith on cocaine". ANTON NEWCOMBE is the beatmaker of BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE and last year released "Revelation", the fourteenth album by that very band. This album was the first that Anton Newcombe recorded entirely in his own studio in Berlin, where he was born.
