The album was quickly followed by two RIAA platinum awards; each subsequent Slipknot release - including four video albums - has won additional platinum awards in the U.S. and around the world. Overall, the band has won eleven platinum and 38 gold awards worldwide to date. Slipknot's fan base is solid and worldwide - the band's last studio effort, 2008's platinum-selling "All Hope is Gone," topped the charts in seven countries, including the U.S. Since their early days, Slipknot have dominated stages across the planet and headlined international festivals such as Mayhem in the US, Download Festival in the UK, Germany's Rock am Ring and Brazil's Monsters of Rock and Rock in Rio festivals. Earlier this month, Slipknot released "The Negative One," the first musical glimpse of this seminal band's life in six years. The song instantly hit No. 1 on Billboard's "Trending 140" chart, making the band and the song the top trending topic on Twitter worldwide and in the U.S. The nightmare, which was directed by band member M.
