Pavlov's Dog, an AOR/prog-rock band of the 1970s, was a special group. The band combined guitar, keyboards, drums and bass with mellotrons, flutes and violin. Plus, lead singer David Surkamp has one of those "hate it or love it" voices that recalls the vocal range of Rush frontman Geddy Lee. "Pampered Menial" was the first Pavlov's Dog album, originally released on ABC Dunhill and reissued on Columbia in 1974. At the time the band signed, they received a $600,000 advance from ABC, a record advance for any newly signed band at the time. The songs "Julia" and "Theme From Subway Sue" received the most airplay. "Pampered Menial" is a crossover album combining 70's hard rock and progressive rock and can be highly recommended to fans of both genres. We are pleased to release this long lost gem in its original gatefold packaging, this time on 180gram audiophile vinyl!

Pavlov's Dog is an American progressive rock band formed in 1972 in St. Louis, Missouri. The band's unmistakable sound is characterized primarily by the expressive and extremely high falsetto voice of lead singer David Surkamp. Esoteric Recordings is now releasing a remastered edition of their 1975 album debut "Pampered Menial". Including a booklet with completely redesigned artwork and a newly written essay.
