The album's frenzy was inspired by bands like Coal Chamber and Limp Bizkit, who emphasized similar grooves and song structures, including some hip hop elements. The album also inspired bands such as Slipknot, Machine Head and Sepultura. The album launched the career of music producer Ross Robinson, who later produced albums such as Three Dollar Bill, Limp Bizkit's Yall and the first two albums by Slipknot. A little over a year after its release, the album went gold in the United States. The album spawned four singles: "Blind", followed by "Need To", "Shoots and Ladders" and "Clown".
