Just before Christmas 1969, Jimi Hendrix, bassist Billy Cox and drummer Buddy Miles (whom Hendrix christened "Band of Gypsys") met for intense rehearsals before an anticipated performance at the Fillmore East in New York City. For the occasion, Jimi prepared a special medley of familiar Christmas songs in his inimitable style. A medley of "Little Drummer Boy," "Silent Night" and "Auld Lang Syne" and "Three Little Bears," a playful outtake from the 1968 album "Electric Ladyland," is now available as a picture disc (with the album cover on one side and Jimi in a Santa Claus costume on the other).
