On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the original Equinoxe Infinity album, a brand new Equinoxe album is released. In 1978, Jean-Michel Jarre composed and produced an album that would reflect the music of our future, revolutionizing the history of electronic music. The main feature of Equinoxe was the "Watchers", who were seen in endless numbers on the cover of the original album. Who are these Watchers? Are they watching us? Are they friends or enemies? In 1987, a time of burgeoning technology and innovation, this watch was a symbol of the machines that watch over us and an idea of what the future would bring. On Equinoxe Infinity, Jean-Michel Jarre continues this idea. The new work comes with two covers. One version embodies a future in which man lives in harmony with nature. The other version shows the destruction that machines and humans could wreak on the planet. For Jarre, known as an innovator and pioneer, the subject of artificial intelligence and the relationship between man and machine is the most important and explosive theme for the future of humanity. For his ideas, Jarre was awarded the 2017 Stehen Hawkins Medal of for Science. Equinoxe Infinity is the soundtrack for this double-sided vision of the future.
