Halford's debut back on vinyl More than 20 years after its initial release, Rob Halford's much-loved solo album 'Resurrection' celebrates a well-deserved reissue on vinyl in 2021 as a double LP on black 180g vinyl. "Resurrection" is the Judas Priest singer's first solo album. Originally released on August 8, 2000, the album took Halford nearly two years to record, from August 1998 to June 2000, and after several years of musical experimentation, it marks a return to his heavy metal roots. "Resurrection" contains a total of twelve songs, all but one of which were written by Halford himself and other co-writers. In the studio he was musically supported by his band "Halford" consisting of Patrick Lachman (guitar), Mike Chlasciak (guitar), Ray Riendeau (bass) and Bobby Jarzombek (drums). The album also features guest appearances by guitarist Roy Z, drummer Pete Parada and keyboardist Ed Roth. The song "The One You Love to Hate" also features a duet with Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson. The song "Silent Screams" was originally recorded by Halford's former band 2wo, but was re-recorded for the album "Resurrection". Halford is an American heavy metal band formed in 1999 by British singer Rob Halford, best known as the lead singer of the heavy metal band Judas Priest, where he had been on the microphone since 1973. Halford formed the band to return to his heavy metal roots. His two previous projects were the "street metal" band Fight and the industrial metal band 2wo. Halford still exist today and have released four studio albums to date, the most recent of which "Halford IV: Made of Metal" was released in 2010.
