It's safe to say that none of their previous albums have anticipated the lyrical expansiveness of their latest work. Almost without exception, all of the songs speak in the first person; poignant character portraits and reflections on unconventional love relationships, insecurities, hallucinations, fairy tales and modern-day morality tales, as well as moments of redemption; they collide into songs, into poetry that takes Goldfrap's music to previously unexplored places.
