Listen to the new album with the new team Indie rock lovers: Roughly five years after their last album and three years after their collaboration with Sparks FFS, Franz Ferdinand return from the studio in 2018 with a brand new LPm. "Always Ascending" is the title of the record, as is the title track, which the band released back in October 2017. The Scotsmen continue their signature mix of Britpop, indie rock, new wave and post-punk, though on "Always Ascending" they show a more experimental side. This may be due to the fact that a lot has happened since their last album: Guitarist and co-founder Nick McCarthy left the band in 2016. He was replaced by two new members, Julian Corrie (keyboards) and Dino Bardot (guitar). Together with producer Philippe Zdar (Beastie Boys, Phoenix, Cassius), they recorded "Always Ascending" at RAK studios in London and Motorbass Studios in Paris. The result is ten tracks that once again make Franz Ferdinand's importance to the indie rock world known. The pioneers are back. In addition to the standard CD, "Always Ascending" is also available on LP and in a limited edition pink LP.
