Flying Colors is a progressive supergroup consisting of Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater, The Winery Dogs, Adrenaline Mob), Dave LaRue (Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse Band), Casey McPherson (Alpha Rev), Neal Morse (Transatlantic, Spock's Beard) and Steve Morse (Deep Purple). Hinter dem Quintett Flying Colors stand Anfangs eine einfache Idee: virtuose Musiker und ein Popsänger machen neumodische Musik auf altmodische Weise. Daraus entwickelte sich die Band Flying Colors, bestehend aus Mike Portnoy (Schlagzeug, Gesang), Dave LaRue (Bass), Neal Morse (Keyboards, Gesang), Casey McPherson (Gesang, Gitarre) und Steve Morse (Gitarre). Gemeinsam schaffen sie eine einzigartige Mixtur aus klassischer Kunstfertigkeit und zeitgenössischer Musik.
