Recorded earlier this year with Andy Savours (My Bloody Valentine) and completed at the end of a UK-wide curfew, the album is a perfect representation of the new band and all the energy, raucousness and explosive drive that comes with it, while clearly being the work of a band uninterested in repetition, monotonous songwriting or creative stagnation. Featuring six new songs, including reinterpretations of early tracks "Sunglasses" and "Athens, France," "For The First Time" is a sonic time capsule that somehow captures the past, present and future simultaneously. Despite only having these two early singles under their belt, Black Country, New Road - they originally got their name from a random number generator - have made a deep impression on fans and critics alike. They've been called "the best band in the world" by The Quietus magazine, received rave reviews from the New York Times to the Guardian, appeared on the cover of Loud & Quiet magazine, played live shows for BBC 6 Music, sold out shows across the country including a 1700 ticket London show, been invited to festivals around the world including Primavera and Glastonbury, and found themselves on French TV between Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon and Radiohead's Ed O'Brien.
