Yilian Cañizares is a Cuban-born violinist and singer who has made a significant impact on the contemporary jazz and world music scenes. Cañizares moved to Venezuela with her family at a young age before relocating to Switzerland to pursue her musical education at the Conservatoire de Fribourg.
