The National

Indie Rock Band from Ohio

The National is an American indie rock band formed in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1999. The band consists of Matt Berninger (vocals), twin brothers Aaron Dessner (guitar, bass, piano) and Bryce Dessner (guitar), and brothers Scott Devendorf (bass, guitar) and Bryan Devendorf (drums). They are known for their dark, melancholic sound and Berninger's distinctive baritone voice. The National achieved critical acclaim with their album "Alligator" in 2005, but it was their fourth studio album, "Boxer," released in 2007, that brought them widespread recognition. Subsequent albums like "High Violet" (2010) and "Trouble Will Find Me" (2013) continued to build their reputation as one of the leading bands in the indie rock scene.
