Skalpel is a Polish nu jazz duo consisting of Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudło who hail from Wrocław, Poland. They emerged in the early 2000s, gaining recognition for their unique blend of jazz and electronic music. Skalpel's sound is characterized by its use of samples from Polish jazz records of the 1960s and 1970s, which they skillfully integrate with modern beats and production techniques. Their self-titled debut album "Skalpel" was released in 2004 on Ninja Tune, an influential British record label known for its eclectic roster of artists. The album was well-received for its innovative approach to jazz and electronica.
