Purling Hiss is a Philadelphia-based rock project that was formed in 2009 by musician Mike Polizze. Initially a solo endeavor, it eventually expanded to include a full band for live performances and some recordings. The project is known for its lo-fi, psychedelic sound that blends elements of noise rock, indie, and grunge. Purling Hiss has released several albums and EPs, with "Water On Mars" being one of their more prominent releases, which came out in 2013. This album marked a shift towards a clearer, more accessible sound compared to the fuzzier textures of their earlier work.
