Oldřich Lipský

Oldřich Lipský

Czech Film Director and Screenwriter

Oldřich Lipský was not an artist, composer, or band, but rather a renowned Czech film director and screenwriter known for his work in comedy and parody. Born on July 4, 1924, in Pelhřimov, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic), he became one of the leading figures in Czech cinema during the 1960s and 1970s. Lipský's most famous films include "Lemonade Joe" (1964), a parody of Westerns, and "Adéla ještě nevečeřela" (1978), known in English as "Adele Hasn't Had Her Dinner Yet," which is a spoof of detective stories and features a carnivorous plant reminiscent of "The Little Shop of Horrors." His films are celebrated for their imaginative visual style and humor. Oldřich Lipský passed away on October 19, 1986. The album mentioned seems to be related to the musical adaptation of his film work; however, Lipský himself was not directly involved in music production or composition as his primary focus was on filmmaking.
