Oceans Ate Alaska is a British metalcore band formed in Birmingham, England, in 2011. The band is known for their technical precision and complex song structures, often incorporating elements of progressive metal. They have gained recognition within the metalcore scene for their energetic live performances and the use of odd time signatures in their music. Oceans Ate Alaska signed with Fearless Records and released their debut album, "Lost Isles," in 2015, followed by their second album, "Hikari," in 2017. The band's lineup has undergone changes over the years, with vocalist James Harrison departing in 2016 and being replaced by Jake Noakes, though Harrison would later return to the band.
