Nico Dostal was an Austrian composer known primarily for his operettas. Born on November 27, 1895, in Korneuburg, he studied music in Vienna and gained prominence in the early 20th century. His career was marked by a series of successful stage works that often showcased his talent for melody and orchestration. Among his most famous operettas are "Clivia," "Die Ungarische Hochzeit," and "Prinzessin Nofretete." Dostal's music was characterized by its light-heartedness and charm, which made it popular with audiences across Europe. He continued to compose well into the 20th century, leaving behind a legacy of operatic and light musical works that are still performed today. Nico Dostal passed away on October 27, 1981, in Salzburg.
