Leslie Howard is a renowned Australian classical pianist and composer, best known for his comprehensive recording of the complete piano music of Franz Liszt, which amounts to over 99 CDs and is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. Born on April 29, 1948, in Melbourne, Howard has had a prolific career as a concert pianist, appearing with leading orchestras around the world under many distinguished conductors. His repertoire is wide-ranging, but he is particularly celebrated for his expertise in the works of Liszt. In addition to performing, Howard is also a respected musicologist and has been involved in unearthing and premiering previously unknown works. He has been recognized for his contributions to music with several awards, including being appointed a Member of the Order of Australia and receiving the Franz Liszt Medal from the Hungarian Liszt Society.
