KVAEN is the solo project of Swedish musician Jakob Björnfot, who is also known for his work with bands such as The Duskfall and Devil's Force. KVAEN's music style is a blend of black metal with elements of traditional heavy metal and thrash, characterized by high-speed riffs, melodic sensibilities, and an overall aggressive sound. The project made its debut with the album "The Funeral Pyre" in February 2020, which was well-received within the metal community for its energetic approach and homage to the classic black metal sound while infusing it with a fresh perspective. KVAEN's follow-up album, "The Great Below," continued to build upon the project's reputation for delivering intense and melodic black metal.
