German Progressive Rock Band

Kraan is a German band known for their unique blend of rock, jazz, and ethnic music influences, often categorized under the genre of Krautrock. The band was formed in 1970 in Ulm by Peter Wolbrandt (guitar), Hellmut Hattler (bass), Jan Fride (drums), and Johannes Pappert (alto saxophone). They quickly gained recognition for their innovative sound and instrumental prowess. Throughout the 1970s and into the 1980s, Kraan established themselves with a series of albums that showcased their evolving style, including their self-titled debut "Kraan" and the live album "Live" which captured the energy of their performances and helped to solidify their reputation.
