Harakiri for the Sky is an Austrian post-black metal band formed in 2011 by vocalist J.J. (Michael, V. Wahntraum) and multi-instrumentalist Matthias "M.S." Sollak, who is also known for his work with the band Bifröst. They are known for their blend of black metal with post-rock elements and melancholic atmospheres. The band's self-titled debut album, "Harakiri for the Sky," was released in 2012 and set the tone for their signature sound. This was followed by their second album, "Aokigahara," in 2014, which continued to build on their atmospheric style and gained them further recognition within the metal community.
