Garbage is an American rock band formed in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1993. The group consists of Scottish singer Shirley Manson and American musicians Duke Erikson, Steve Marker, and Butch Vig. Vig is notably also a renowned producer, having worked on Nirvana's iconic album "Nevermind." Garbage's self-titled debut album was released in 1995 and was met with critical acclaim and commercial success, featuring hits like "Stupid Girl" and "Only Happy When It Rains." Their sound was characterized by a fusion of alternative rock with elements of electronic music and pop, which set them apart from many of their contemporaries.
