Legendary Hip-Hop Duo

EPMD is an influential American hip hop duo from Brentwood, New York, consisting of Erick Sermon ("E Double") and Parrish Smith ("PMD"), whose name is an acronym for "Erick and Parrish Making Dollars." Formed in 1987, EPMD quickly rose to prominence in the hip hop community with their funk-fueled beats and laid-back lyrical delivery. Their debut album "Strictly Business," released in 1988, was both a commercial and critical success, featuring hit tracks like "You Gots to Chill" and the title track "Strictly Business." The album's sound was characterized by its heavy use of samples from classic funk and rock tracks, which became a hallmark of EPMD's style.
