The Česká Filharmonie, also known as the Czech Philharmonic, is a world-renowned symphony orchestra based in Prague. The orchestra was founded in 1896 and has since become one of the leading orchestras in Europe, known for its rich, warm sound and interpretive depth. Over the years, the Czech Philharmonic has been led by a number of distinguished conductors. Among them was Václav Neumann, who served as its chief conductor from 1968 to 1990. Neumann was a prominent Czech conductor and is celebrated for his interpretations of Czech classical music, particularly the works of Antonín Dvořák.
