British Sea Power

British Indie Rock Band

British Sea Power is an indie rock band formed in Brighton, England, in 2000. The group is known for its eclectic musical style, which incorporates elements of post-punk, art rock, and alternative rock. The band's lineup has included Yan (Scott Wilkinson) on vocals and guitar, Noble (Martin Noble) on guitar, Hamilton (Neil Hamilton Wilkinson) on bass and vocals, Wood (Matthew Wood) on drums, Phil Sumner on cornet and keyboards, and Abi Fry on viola. British Sea Power gained critical acclaim with their debut album "The Decline Of British Sea Power," released in 2003. Their follow-up album "Open Season" arrived in 2005 and showcased a more polished sound that broadened their appeal. In 2009, they released the soundtrack to the documentary "Man Of Aran," which demonstrated their versatility and ability to compose atmospheric scores. Over the years, British Sea Power has maintained a dedicated fan base and has been praised for their powerful live performances that often feature unusual stage decorations and themes inspired by nature. They have also been noted for their intelligent lyrics and the literary quality of their songwriting.
