Biff Bang Pow! was an indie pop/rock band formed in 1983 by Alan McGee, who later became known as the founder of Creation Records, and Dick Green. The band was part of the UK's indie music scene during the 1980s and early 1990s. They took their name from a song by The Creation, reflecting McGee's interest in mod and psychedelic music. Biff Bang Pow! released several albums and singles throughout their career, with their music characterized by jangly guitars and melodic songwriting. The band's lineup changed several times over the years, with McGee being the consistent member throughout its existence. Although they never achieved mainstream success, Biff Bang Pow! maintained a cult following and were influential in the independent music scene, particularly through McGee's work with Creation Records, which signed bands like Oasis and Primal Scream. The band eventually disbanded in the early 1990s as McGee focused more on his role at Creation Records.
