Street punk - jako žánr - byl druhou generací punk rocku ve Velké Británii, která vládla ve Velké Británii přibližně mezi lety 1980 a 1985 pod heslem "Punk's Not Dead". Pro mnohé je street punk praktickou realizací těch postulátů, které byly v první generaci punku pouhými ideály. Street punk je agresivní, orientovaný na ulici, militantní a jeho umělci obvykle nahrávali pouze na nezávislých labelech, což je výrazně odlišuje od Sex Pistols, The Clash, Generation X nebo The Stranglers, jejichž alba vycházela na velkých labelech.

"Street Punk" je fantastickým souhrnem nejlepších představitelů tohoto žánru, včetně nejvýznamnějších kapel (The Exploited, Anti Pasti, Anti-Nowhere League, Infa Riot, The Business, The 4 Skins, The Adicts a mnoho dalších). Jedná se o kolekci (většinou) zápalných britských kapel se silnými písněmi, válečnými hymnami a spoustou a spoustou postoje.
