Rossini's operas are some of the most compelling and well-known and require all the soprano's abilities. The Russian soprano living in Italy, who began her glittering career with Rossini's music at the Pesaro Opera Festival and who has already caused a sensation on the world's great stages with her "radiant, multifaceted voice" (Stern) and powerful stage presence, comes up with another career highlight with this new album. The experts are enthusiastic: "an absolutely top-notch coloratura soprano. On her CD she has recorded 7 arias from Rossini's operas, including "Il Viaggio a Reims", "Il barbiere di Siviglia" and "Il turco in Italia". She was accompanied by the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, a first-class orchestra for Rossini's music. It was conducted by the legendary Rossini expert Alberto Zedda. In the arias selected for "Rossini!" Olga Peretyatko demonstrated her haunting bel canto artistry with mesmerizing coloratura, perfectly placed top notes and a distinctive legato.
