Watch out - a new generation is coming! A new generation of artists is about to shake up the French pop scene. irreverent, full of musical ideas and extremely talented. Not for nothing is the compilation "Le Pop 9" subtitled "au début". It features 16 brand new French artists who have never appeared on a Le Pop album before. Artists, some of whom are yet to make their debut album, but have already caused a sensation in their country. "Le Pop 9: au début" is a breath of fresh air from a neighbouring country. The contemporary sound characterises the current scene and ensures that creative chanson pop in all its forms can be rediscovered. The tradition of chanson is unbroken and the connoisseur can effortlessly create a continuous series from Piaf to Pomme, presented here. But if you follow the scene over the long term, as the samplers in the "Le Pop" series do, you will realize how new colors and influences shape and change chanson over time. The first Le Pop compilation began in 2002 with the previous generation. That's when the genre diluted, with cocktail pop, minimalism and indie replacing accordion and yéyé beats. The 2018 generation continues this, but incorporates a lot more electronic sounds and production styles that come from hip hop and R&B.
