For music lovers and connoisseurs, the name Neubeuern is inseparably linked to the now internationally renowned choir in the village. The German and foreign press describe the success of the ensemble as "the phenomenon of Neubeuern", "the miracle of Neubeuern", "the source of choral music" - and many more words could be quoted. The Neubeuerners under Enoch zu Guttenberg are known as almost fanatical interpreters of Bach's works such as the St. Matthew and St. John Passions, the B minor Mass, as passionate admirers of Mozart, as musicians familiar with Verdi, Beethoven and Stravinsky. And the more famous the Chorgemeinschaft Neubeuern becomes, the more international its scenes become, the more they are in danger of forgetting who they are and where they come from. They are folk musicians in the best sense of the word, and they want to remain so; they are an evolved association of many folk music ensembles. The choral community has never denied or abolished this origin. In Neubeur's Advent Singing, the internal diversity is now clear again. Although the choir performs as a whole, it opens up and shows the full range of its talents in three-, four- and five-part singing, in music for zither, flute, clarinet and violin.
