Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble: Couldn't Stand The Weather LTD versie op vinyl 2LP in 45 RPM limited remastered editie. Deze specifieke uitgave werd uitgebracht in VS bij uitgeverij Analogue Productions in samenwerking met Sony Music Entertainment op 18. november 2016.
Stevie Ray Vaughan (g, voc); Stan Harrison (ts); Tommy Shannon (b); Chris 'Whipper' Layton (dr) The Analogue Productions reissue of Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Couldn't Stand The Weather" on 45 speed is so good, as are its 45 speed accompaniments "Texas Flood" and "Soul To Soul", that they truly represent what Gregg Geller, producer and A&R representative, described as "the best replication of the master tapes to date"." We've already brought you the 33 1/3rpm "Texas Hurricane" box set, which features the greatest tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan ever reissued - six of Vaughan's most classic album titles remastered for the ultimate blues and guitar fanatic. Now we've taken the next step and produced 45rpm versions of these three exceptional LPs. For all of these albums, we used the original half-inch analog master tapes at 30 inches per second. Ryan K. Smith of Sterling Sound cut the LP lacquers using a state-of-the-art VMS 80 cutting lathe. Gary Salstrom took care of the plating and, of course, the vinyls were pressed here at Quality Record Pressings, makers of the best sounding LPs in the world. 'Couldn't Stand The Weather' is the remarkable second album by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. It follows their critically acclaimed debut 'Texas Flood'. Featuring the same winning musicianship and songwriting formula, 'Couldn't Stand The Weather' cemented Vaughan's place as one of the best musicians around. It is their first album to be certified gold and their first platinum selling album. It includes breathtaking renditions of Clark's "Cold Shot" and Hendrix's "Voodoo Child." This definitive masterpiece, which has become a fixture on the Billboard charts, has been praised by Entertainment Weekly, Q, Down Beat and many others. There isn't a single link in this production chain that isn't absolutely top notch. The absolute best that money can buy. But beyond that, we put our passion into this project. Acoustic Sounds is a big fan of the blues and Stevie Ray Vaughan. To work on this project and make these records sound and look the best they have ever sounded is a big dream come true for us.

Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble: Couldn't Stand The Weather LTD versie op vinyl 2LP in limited remastered editie. Deze specifieke uitgave werd uitgebracht in Europa en VK bij uitgeverij Epic in samenwerking met Pure Pleasure Records op 4. september 2020.
Stevie Ray Vaughan sparked the 80s blues revival with his amazingly accomplished guitar style. Influenced by blues musicians such as Albert King, Otis Rush and Muddy Waters, as well as rock'n'rollers such as Jimi Hendrix and Lonnie Mack, and "jazz drifter" Kenny Burrell, he developed a uniquely eclectic and scorching style that is unmatched by any other guitarist, regardless of genre. Vaughan bridged the gap between blues and rock like no other artist since the late 1960s. For the next seven years he became a shining light in American blues, his concerts consistently sold out and his records regularly gilded. His tragic death in 1990 only increased his influence in blues and American rock and roll. Beginning in 1978 and for the next several years, Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band "Double Trouble" played in the Austin area and became one of the most popular bands in Texas. Thanks to a performance at the Montreux Festival in 1982, the band was noticed by David Bowie and Jackson Browne. Bowie asked Vaughan to play on his next album, and Browne offered him free time to record at his "Downtown" studio in Los Angeles - both offers he accepted. Vaughan recorded solo guitar tracks on Bowie's "Let's Dance" album in late 1982, and shortly thereafter the band recorded their debut album, "Texas Flood," in less than a week at Browne's "Downtown" studio via John Hammond Sr. who was now signed to Epic.
Bowie offered Vaughan to be the solo guitarist on his 1983 stadium tour, but Vaughan preferred to tour with his band Double Trouble, which was a huge success. Shortly after the tour ended, the band recorded their second album, "Couldn't Stand The Weather", which was released in May 1984. The LP was a bigger success than the first album, reaching number 31 on the charts and being certified gold in late 1985.
Album valt binnen het genre Rock, Blues en Texas Blues. 180g High Quality Vinyl Limited Edition.
