Status Quo has been at the top of the music scene for a long time. With the most UK chart hits, the most appearances on BBC's Top of the Pops and a total of 25 top ten albums, Status Quo are undoubtedly one of the longest running bands in the UK. In 1962, the group started out as a beat group called The Spectres. Around 1967 they discovered psychedelic rock music and changed the band name to Traffic, which they later changed again to Traffic Jam. That same year, Rick Parfitt joined the band, leading to another name change that has stuck to this day: Status Quo.
